Founded in 1907 Scrabo Golf Club is situated
high above Newtownards, overlooking Strangford Lough. Scrabo
is a picturesque eighteen hole 6,227 yards par 71 golf course
set in the beautiful County Down countryside.
The first hole at Scrabo Golf Club is described
by the legendary Christy O'Connor Snr as being his favourite
opening hole in Irish Golf.
The famous landmark Scrabo Tower overlooking
the golf course was built as a memorial to the 3rd Marquis
of Londonderry and commands impressive views over Newtownards
town and the Northern part of Strangford Lough. Scrabo Country
Park is open to the public and houses an historical and local
environment exhibition.
On a clear day one can see the coast of Southern
Scotland, Northern England and the Isle of Man.
So remember "A Stranger Is Always Welcome"
at Scrabo Golf Club where a warm reception awaits all our
guests. Please Enjoy!
